Santa Fe Baby Fund awards $65,000 in support of infant and toddler well-being

Santa Fe Baby Fund 2024 Grants

The Santa Fe Baby Fund, an initiative of the Santa Fe Community Foundation that supports the well-being of infants, toddlers, and their caretakers, is pleased to announce $65,000 in grants to seven local nonprofits.

The 2024 grantees are: Family Learning Center, Growing Up New Mexico, Kiwanis First Born of Northern New Mexico, Las Cumbres Community Services, Many Mothers, Saint Elizabeth Shelter – Casa Familia, and Santa Fe Recovery Center.

“Investing in the early years of life is critically important to the long-term health of our community,” said Christopher Goett, President &CEO of the Santa Fe Community Foundation. “We’re proud to support nonprofits dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of our youngest neighbors, their families, and caretakers.”

The 2024 grants, which range from $5,000 - $12,500, support the fund’s five priority areas: 1) increasing access to affordable, high quality early childhood care and education; 2) supporting programming for young parents ages 29 and under, and their infants and toddlers; 3) supporting grand parents or other non-parent kin raising infants and toddlers; 4) supporting ongoing training, professional development, and programming for the early childhood workforce; and 5) improving access to reproductive health services for adolescents and young adults.

The Santa Fe Baby Fund was founded in 2012 with a seed gift from a committed individual to give Santa Fe’s youngest the best possible start in life. Research has repeatedly shown that early childhood, particularly ages prenatal to three years, is a critical developmental period with a life long impact on educational, social, physical, and cognitive development. To date, the fund has awarded nearly $600,000 to incredible organizations in northern New Mexico.

The fund is made possible through the generosity of its many supporters. To learn more and donate to the Santa Fe Baby Fund, please visit http://www.santafecf.org/causes/early-childhood or call 505.988.9715.
