Values

Our values

Out of reverence for this unique place we call home, we value:

Equity

We recognize the systemic injustice in our community and commit to prioritizing equity and belonging in how we operate and the work we do.

Perseverance

While responsive to immediate challenges, we stay committed to long-term strategies and investments that strengthen our region's capacity to navigate social, economic, and ecological change.

Listening

As a trusted learning organization, we initiate and engage in authentic, respectful dialogue to understand, include, and respond to the rich diversity of voices and ideas in our region.

Generosity

We strive to expand the understanding and practice of philanthropy and to engage the generosity of wealth, knowledge, and the spirit of all people in northern New Mexico.

Land acknowledgement

Our statement

We acknowledge that the building where we work is located on unceded Tewa lands known by the original inhabitants as O’ghe P’oghe – White Shell, Water Place. We recognize that our full focus area—the current counties of Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, and Santa Fe—encompasses land that has been inhabited by Indigenous people for countless generations and is currently home to Nambe, Ohkay Owingeh, Picuris, Pojoaque, and Tesuque Pueblos.

We honor the people of the past, present, and future who live on, hold sacred, and steward these lands. We acknowledge these lands as immigrants and visitors, recognizing that historical harm and trauma cannot be undone. We commit to actively continuing our learning journey and supporting the healing necessary in our organization and communities.
