Native American Advised Fund awards $121,000 to Native-serving nonprofits

The Native American Advised Fund (NAAF) at the Santa Fe Community Foundation is pleased to announce $121,000 in grants to 29 nonprofits serving Native communities across New Mexico. The 2024 grants, which range from $2,500- $10,000, support NAAF’s mission of enhancing Native lifeways and promoting the Indigenous core values of community, language, culture, and environment.

This year’s grantees are IndigenousWays; Jemez Enterprises; Kha'p'o Community School; Little Globe; Santa Fe Film Institute; School for Advanced Research; Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian; Silver Bullet Productions; Animal Protection New Mexico; Pueblo of San Felipe DNR; Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab; Chainbreaker Collective; Notah Begay III Foundation, Inc.; Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region; Keres Children's Learning Center; National Forest Foundation; New Mexico Environmental Law Center; River Source; Three Sisters Collective; Trees, Water & People; Changing Woman Initiative; Free Flow NM, Inc; Gerard's House; Nat'l Indian Youth Leadership Development Project; NW NM First Born; Roadrunner Food Bank; Tewa Women United; Youth Heartline; and Santa Fe Indigenous Center.

The Native American Advised Fund’s annual grantmaking is determined by an all-Native advisory committee that reflects the diversity of New Mexico’s Indigenous communities. Since its inception, NAAF has deployed over $880,000 to tribes, schools, and organizations across the state.

The Native American Advised Fund was established in 1993 with a seed gift from the late Allan Houser (Chiricahua Fort Sill Apache), a humanitarian and one of the world's great artists. It remains the only endowment in New Mexico dedicated solely to Native causes.
