Las Campanas Community Funds
Inward through Scholarships
Outward through Community Grants
Members of The Club at Las Campanas have long recognized the importance of philanthropic action in the Santa Fe community by supporting local nonprofit organizations and investing in the future of our employees. Since 2002, Las Campanas Community Funds (LCCF) has operated on behalf of members as an independent donor-advised fund of the Santa Fe Community Foundation (SFCF). LCCF’s two areas of giving are Scholarships and Community Grants. The two funds provide a balanced approach to delivering the vision of founding members by providing educational support to employees and their families and in helping those in need in the greater Santa Fe community.
Both funds are supported financially by members of The Club at Las Campanas through donations and planned gifts, earned interest from the funds corpus, and fundraising activities. All donations to LCCF are tax deductible.
Community Grants (established in 2002) is supported via the annual Las Campanas Art Sale in the summer, a new Studio Artists Tour (started in 2022) in early September, and our Holiday Appeal campaign in the fall. The art events are a wonderful kickoff for this campaign, building a sense of community and raising over $35K in 2022. Our Holiday Appeal highlights preselected nonprofit organizations supporting education, health, and human services and resulted in record donations from members in 2022. As a result of these fund-raising activities, LCCF was able to award $600K in community grants to 27 organizations during our 2022 cycle. Cumulatively, more than $2M has been awarded through 235 grants since 2002.
Scholarships (established in 2012) and the Teen Savings Account (TSA, established in 2020) are supported by funds raised at the Las Campanas Scholarship Classic & Employee Appreciation Day in June. The Classic brings our community together at The Club for a day of great fun for a great cause! Scholarship donations received in 2022 were $165K, all of which is awarded to eligible students—employees of The Club and their families.
LCCF receives no revenue from The Club at Las Campanas and has no paid staff. The LCCF Board—a volunteer committee comprised of Club members—makes all scholarship and grant decisions annually, with member input and with administrative support from the Santa Fe Community Foundation.
Las Campanas Community Funds is committed to making a difference in our community. This is only possible with the financial support of members of The Club and gifts of time, energy, and passion from our volunteers at events and on the Board. We greatly appreciate the strong support LCCF receives from members!
