The Santa Fe Symphony: Eroica
The Santa Fe Symphony Concertmaster, David Felberg, performs Jennifer Higdon’s 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning Concerto for Violin & Orchestra in its Santa Fe debut. The program opens with Starburst for String Orchestra by Jessie Montgomery, concluding with Beethoven’s anthem to freedom and liberty—Symphony No. 3 in E-Flat Major “Eroica,” and its retracted dedication to Napoleon, once the French had occupied the composer’s native Vienna.
